Public affairs counsellor at the United States Embassy in Kingston, Joshua Polacheck, is warning Jamaicans not to accept offers from unauthorised persons lending assistance with visa application and job placement in the United States.
Polacheck says Jamaicans must begin to understand that the visa application process is not very difficult and as such they do not need to pay exorbitant sums to persons offering to apply on their behalf.
Polacheck is also raising alarm about what is known as the visa lottery being advertised here.
He points out that Jamaica is not eligible for the lottery and called on Jamaicans to avoid being scammed by persons advertising the fraudulent scheme.
