Noranda greenhouse expansion in mining areas.

The Tobolski initiative paves the way for 60 greenhouses to be completed between January and March at Tobolski, Nine Miles and Watt Town in the Noranda mining area.

The expansion programme is part of an industry-wide project led by Noranda, the Alpart Community Council, Jamaica Bauxite Institute, and the Jamaica Social Investment Fund with the objective of constructing 160 houses spread across bauxite mining areas in St Ann, Manchester and St Elizabeth.

In response to water challenges in the areas, Noranda has constructed million-gallon water reservoirs at the Burnt Ground, Nine Miles and Tobolski locations.
