Defence lawyer Oswest Senior Smith has reported senior government prosecutor, Lisa Palmer Hamilton, to the General Legal Council for accusing him in court of assault.
The legal council is the statutory body that regulates the legal profession in Jamaica.
Senior Smith told The Gleaner/Power 106 yesterday that he has filed a complaint with the council.
Both Senior Smith and Palmer Hamilton are appearing in an ongoing murder case.
The judge in the case had to reprimand both of them following the assertion on Monday.
Palmer Hamilton told the court yesterday that she was not serious in making the comment.
But Senior Smith said he did not perceive her comment as a joke.
