Gretel White (left) gives a thumbs up after receiving her prize cheque from Simone Walker (centre), Scotiabank’s director, marketing and programmes, and the Port Maria Branch Manager Paul Wallace. White was the recipient of $292,500, awarded for taking part in the ‘Scotiabank Share Your Thoughts’ survey.

Gretel White was surprised to win $292,500 after participating in a Scotiabank online "Scotiabank Share Your Thoughts' survey.

White said, "I was surfing online, saw the ad inviting persons to share their thoughts for a chance to win on Facebook and signed up on impulse'. "I had no idea I would actually win," she said.

The money came at the right time; White is and unemployed, trained artist who could not even afford to purchase painting products. Now she is hoping to rectify that and also plans to give back to her aunt who has been assisting her through during this difficult time.

The 'Share Your Thoughts Campaign' is an online Scotiabank survey that will award quarterly prizes to participants. Winners are selected by an automated random draw, conducted by Scotiabank in conjunction with the Betting Gaming and Lotteries Commission. The second draw will be on April 11.
