State Minister with responsibility for Works, Everald Warmington.

The National Works Agency (NWA) says it will be better able to craft a plan to fix the damage to infrastructure in Portland from days of heavy rainfall following a tour today of the parish.

State Minister with responsibility for Works, Everald Warmington and E.G. Hunter, the chief executive officer at the National Works Agency, are to lead the tour of the affected areas.

The NWA's Communications Manager, Stephen Shaw, says the tour will allow the team to get a first-hand view of the damage.

Shaw says an assessment will be conducted of the extent of the displacement following which a plan will be developed for the NWA’s response.

Days of rain in Portland last week resulted in the flooding of some roads and communities in the parish.

The NWA reported cases of landslides, breakaways and blocked drains.
