St Mary police stations get timely gifts
When persons visited the 11 police stations in St Mary earlier this year to ask the cops what were the items needed to make their duties a little easier, little did they know what was in store.
That visit was followed by another from Minister Robert Montague, who verified, first-hand, the items requested.
Meanwhile, Montague, who is from the parish, gave the list to family members and friends overseas and asked them to donate items.
The minister, with a truckload of items in tow, surprised the police with the supplies they had requested, during their regular weekly briefing meetings .
Needless to say, they were grateful for the items, which included a water tank, an air-conditioning unit, television sets, microwave ovens, a printer-copier, tyres, cooking gas and chairs.
