The water supply to several communities in Hanover and St James will be disrupted starting today as the National Water Commission (NWC) suspends operations at one of its treatment plants to carry out improvement work.

The operations at the Great River Treatment Plant in St James will be halted until June 3 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The NWC says during this period customers in sections of St James and Hanover will experience an interruption in their water supply.

Areas likely to be affected in St James include: Gloucester Avenue, Queens Drive, Mango Walk, Glendevon, Salt Spring, Brandon Hill, Norwood, Paradise, Cornwall Court, Rose Heights, Farm Heights, Albion, Anchovy, Guava Walk and Belmont.

Areas likely to be affected in Hanover are: Cue, Elgin Town, Johnson Town, Lucea, Brisette, Hoist, Malcolm Heights, Cacoon, Dias, First Hill, Montpelier, Bamboo, McQuarrie, Woodland and Blenheim.

The NWC is urging customers to store water for use during the affected periods.
