Guardian Life, PM host treat for children
Free health checks and school medicals were a big feature of a back-to-school treat hosted by Prime Minister Andrew Holness in Olympic Gardens on August 24.
Through a partnership with the Guardian Group mobile health unit, many persons were able to receive health checks at the event, which saw a turnout of hundreds of children and community members.
They were féted with food, music, bounceabouts and rides, held on a playing field at the civic centre in the community. They were also presented with back-to-school supplies.
Holness, who is also member of parliament for the area, took the opportunity to interact with community members and the children.
The prime minister also visited the mobile health unit and spent some time with the beneficiaries who were there. Community members expressed delight and appreciation for the day's activities.
