Chief Medical Officer, Dr Winston De La Haye, is urging persons to begin making preparations to safeguard their health in light of the approaching hurricane.
De La Haye says persons should start storing clean water.
He says water can be purified by boiling or adding droplets of bleach.
De La Haye is appealing to persons with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart diseases and asthma to ensure their medication is easily accessible in case they need to evacuate.
He's also urging pregnant women, especially those within one month of their delivery date, to identify close relatives or friends who live close to hospitals in case they need to relocate.
