The Government is to announce a comprehensive programme to fix drains and improve the vast parochial road network across Jamaica.
The Local Government Ministry is responsible for repairing parochial roads.
Last week, Local Government Minister, Desmond McKenzie told Parliament that he will make the announcement in due course.
Speaking in the Sectoral Debate, he said there was what he called a great need for extensive repairs to the road network.
During the last fiscal year, he said the ministry financed repairs to 100 kilometres of road and rehabilitation of a further 12 kilometres.
He said $400 million was also spent on drain cleaning.
