Elderly man killed in accident on Yallahs main road

An elderly man was killed in a motor vehicle accident along the Yallahs main road in St Thomas last night.
Dead is Harold Shaw of Montpellier district in the parish.
Reports are that Shaw was attempting to cross the road when he was hit by a motor car that swerved to avoid a collision with another vehicle.
According to the police, the driver of the vehicle did not stop, claiming he was fearful for his life.
He was later picked up by the police and taken to the Morant Bay Police Station.
The police say he will be formally charged after being questioned in the presence of his attorney.
