The St Kitts-Nevis government yesterday presented a EC$706.1 million budget to Parliament indicating that a significant amount of the fiscal package would go into projects aimed at improving the socio-economic life of the people in the twin island federation.

Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Dr Timothy Harris told legislations that more than $700 million would go to support the implementation of the various plans and programs intended to improve delivery of public service.

He said one of the fundamental issues that his administration is determined to address in 2018 is the modernisation of the education and training system to prepare citizens for a modern work environment.

He said the policies contained in the fiscal package are to ensure the twin island federation continues to record economic growth as experienced in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
