St James man charged with quadruple murder in Westmoreland
Detectives from the Westmoreland Division charged 26-year-old Ryan Letsman of Kings Street, Montego Bay in St James in connection with the murder of four persons in Brighton district, Westmoreland which occurred on Friday, November 24, 2017.
Letsman was arrested by lawmen about 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at a bar in Retreat district, Westmoreland and a Smith and Wesson pistol with 13 rounds of ammunition taken from him.
On Thursday, January 11 he was identified during an identification parade and charged with:
* Four counts of murder
* Arson
* Robbery with aggravation
* Illegal possession of firearm and ammunition
Reports are that 32-year-old Alwayne Clarke, his wife 57-year-old Susan Nyman-Clarke, 42-year-old Wayne Thompson and 30-year-old Deron Walters, all of Brighton district, were shot dead by a group of men about 4 p.m. at a house. Several items, inclusive of cash, were stolen from the dwelling, which was subsequently set on fire.
Meanwhile, lawmen are currently seeking the other men that were involved in the incident and are asking anyone with information to contact the Savanna-la-Mar Criminal Investigation Branch at 955-2758, Crime Stop at 311, the Police 119 emergency number or the nearest Police Station.
