Police confirm PNP MP charged with common assault
The police have confirmed that the People’s National Party’s (PNP) Natalie Neita, Member of Parliament for St Catherine North Central has been charged with Common Assault.
According to the police, the charges stem from an allegation that on Monday, January 8 about 11 a.m., during a dispute with a male employee on Spanish Town Road, Kingston 11 she reportedly hit him.
The complainant filed a report to the Duhaney Park Police. On Wednesday, January 10 Neita, who sits on the opposition benches in Parliament, visited the station in the company of her attorney where formal charges were laid against her.
She was bailed in her own surety in the sum of $30,000 and is scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Thursday, February 1.
