The Island Traffic Authority has again been plunged into mourning following the brutal murder of another motor vehicle examiner.

Fifty-one-year-old Lorenzo Escoe was shot multiple times last night at his home in Havendale, St Andrew.

The police say he was in his yard washing his car about 10 o’clock when he was pounced upon by three armed men who opened fire.

He was hit all over the body.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The police say they are yet to establish a motive for the killing.

The head offices of the Island Traffic Authority have been closed as staff mourn the loss of their colleague.

Its Director, Ludlow Powell, says the entire department is in a state of shock and disbelief over the killing.

He says the murder is particularly difficult for staff given that another motor vehicle examiner was killed three months ago.
