The second-tier leadership of the ruling Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) remains unchanged as all four current deputy leaders were re-elected to serve another term.

The four deputy leaders: Desmond McKenzie, Area Council 1; James Robertson, Area Council 2; Rudyard Spencer, Area Council 3; and JC Hutchinson, Area Council 4, were all nominated unopposed at their respective area councils leading up to the main conference.

Area Council One — Kingston and St Andrew; Area Council Two — Portland, St Catherine, St Mary and St Thomas; Area Council Three — Clarendon, Manchester, St Ann; and Area Council Four — Hanover, St Elizabeth, St James, Trelawny, and Westmoreland.

Andrew Holness was also returned as the leader of the JLP, being the sole nominee.

In the meantime, each area council will honour one person in today’s proceedings as a part of the 75th anniversary celebration.
