Crash claims life of 57-y-o man in Highgate, St Mary

A 57-year-old man died yesterday in a motor vehicle crash on the Charlottenburg main road in Highgate, St Mary.
Dead is Hugh Daley, of Robins Bay, Islington, St Mary.
Reports from the Highgate police are that about 1:30 p.m., Daley was driving a Wassy motorcycle along the roadway. when he collided with an Isuzu NQR motor truck.
Daley and the driver of the truck sustained multiple injuries and were taken to hospital.
Daley was pronounced dead and the other man was admitted for treatment.
Since the start of the year nine persons have died on the nation’s roadways, four less than the 13 recorded over the similar period last year.
A total of 376 persons died in motor vehicles crashes across the island last year.
