It’s time for Fitfest Soca Edition

BodybyKurt, in association with Kia, presents the fourth staging of the exciting event Fitfest, the ultimate workout party and expo, with the theme ‘Soca Edition’. This affair will be held on Saturday April 6, 2019, at NWC Sports Club (Mona Dam), St Andrew.

BodybyKurt Kia FitFest is designed for all fitness enthusiasts who want to have fun while working out and is a fusion of culture and movement while showcasing a holistic approach to health and wellness. Patrons will enjoy 14 of Jamaica’s best fitness instructors, bringing their expertise in Zumba, stick aerobics, dancehall, kick-boxing, soca aerobics, among other genres. BodybyKurt will be doing it differently this time around where he will be catering to all soca lovers!

The brain behind the wheels, Kurt Dunn, said that this a “warm- up to carnival. Patrons will be able to assess themselves and see how ready they are for the grand Carnival Road March”.

Music juggling will be by the Jamaican soca king, DJ Cruise.

There will be many exciting prizes and surprises. In keeping with the theme, there will be a crowning of the Best Dressed Soca King and Queen. Patrons are being encouraged to come out in their best carnival wear and vie for the ‘Best Dressed Soca King and Queen’ title. Other fitness competitions will include push-ups, pull-ups, front planks, burpees and best customised yellow T-shirt.

Health Minister Dr Christopher Tufton has shown his support for this event via social media, expressing that the man behind the excitement, Kurt Dunn, is “the best at what he does”. He encouraged his followers to “be there!”, as Kurt leads the charge for wellness.

EVENT RUNNING ORDER:

* 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. – Exposition by the various sponsors

* 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. – Exercise party

* 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. – After-workout jam with DJ Cruise
