St James man charged for breaches of Firearms Act

A St James man was arrested and charged on Saturday for breaches of the Firearms Act.

He is 20-year-old Raheim Forsythe of Catherine Hall in Montego Bay, who is charged with illegal possession of firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.

His court date is being arranged.

The police report that about 1:42 a.m., cops conducted an intelligence-led operation at an address along Queens's Drive in the parish.

The police say Forsythe was accosted and searched and a Taurus nine millimeter pistol with a magazine containing thirteen 9mm rounds of ammunition was taken from him.

He was arrested and subsequently charged.
