Woman accused of passport fraud to return to court June 7
A 38-year-old St Catherine woman who is charged with fraudulently obtaining a Jamaican passport in another woman's name is to reappear in St Catherine Parish Court on June 7.
Tanecia Reid is answering to charges of forgery, conspiracy to commit forgery, obtaining passport by forged document and making a false declaration.
When the matter was mentioned on Monday before Senior Parish Court Judge Desiree Alleyne, attorney-at-law, Davian Vassell, told the court that further details are required in the matter.
The accused woman's bail was extended until June 7 when the matter will again be mentioned.
It is alleged that the complainant went to a tax office to transact business and after presenting her identification, irregularities were observed.
She was informed that another person was using similar documents.
Contact was made to the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA), which revealed the passport bearing Reid's photo, but the complainant's data.
The police were contacted and an investigation conducted, which resulted in the arrest and subsequent charge of Reid.
