Audrey Marks thanks Pastor Donnie McClurkin Jr, his congregation for donations
WASHINGTON DC:
Jamaica’s Ambassador to the United States Audrey Marks has expressed appreciation to popular American gospel singer and head of the Perfecting Faith Church, Pastor Donnie McClurkin Jr, for his church’s generosity of gifts and medical services following Hurricane Beryl.
Addressing the Perfecting Faith congestion on Sunday, October 27, in Freeport, New York, Marks expressed her “sincere gratitude to Pastor McClurkin, the ‘honorary yardie’, and the other members of the congregation for their generosity extended to my fellow Jamaicans through the Perfecting Faith Church Missions Department.
“Many thanks to dentists and nurses who donated their services. The seeds, fruit trees and livestock provided in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl were both timely and greatly appreciated. We are also very appreciative of the homes built providing well-needed shelter for two needy families.
“I must also applaud this church as you are a church on the move where ministry meets the people and I encourage you to be steadfast, unmovable and always abounding in the work of the Lord because your labour is not in vain.”
In responding, Pastor McClurkin said he was moved to make the donation because of his love for Jamaica and its culture, adding that one of his albums contains tracks that were inspired by Jamaican gospel songs.
The popular pastor said that it had been on his heart to continue doing good in Jamaica as this was not the first time that he has been making donations to the country. He pointed out that donating a house with proper amenities to a mother of five was very satisfying for him.
“This is not a small thing, and I’m glad to be a part of this. I’m glad that our church, Perfecting Faith Church in New York, could be a part and partner with them and make this happen,” McClurkin said.
