General Manager of Petrojam Limited, Telroy Morgan, is assuring the public that the petroleum market will be adequately supplied with fuel, should Hurricane Beryl affect the island in the coming days.

He said that the company has two to three weeks supply of finished petroleum products.

“We have activated our Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan for the hurricane and have taken the relevant steps to ensure there is uninterrupted fuel supply to the market”, the Petrojam GM noted.

“We have been in preparation mode since May, which is observed nationally as Hurricane Preparedness Month.”

Morgan said that the company extended the opening hours of the Loading Racks in Kingston and Montego Bay for Monday, July 1, and Tuesday, July 2, to facilitate adequate access to fuel supplies.

“We have advised our customers to stock up on fuel if the weather system is confirmed to make landfall and to update us on any special supply needs”, the Petrojam GM informed.

The company is also on standby to address emergency supply issues for hospitals and other critical facilities. All critical facilities are being urged to ensure that they have products reserved for at least five days in case roads become inaccessible.
