Communications and entertainment provider Flow says it has been making progress in its network restoration following the passage of Hurricane Beryl with more of its fixed and mobile customers now receiving service.

The company noted that as of Tuesday, July 16, mobile service is available to 90 per cent of its customers, up from 77 per cent following the immediate passage of the hurricane. This has been bolstered by the restoration of more than 200 cell sites since July 4.

On its fixed (internet, voice, cable) network, 193,000 customers were impacted by the storm and approximately 158,000 customers (82%) have been restored.

Additionally, fixed restoration work is ongoing across all parishes with St Thomas, Portland, St James, and St Catherine having the largest percentage of restored communities, while St Elizabeth, Manchester, and Trelawny have the least.

In a statement, Flow noted that communities that received the most damage may require an estimated four weeks for restoration work to be completed. In addition, the company’s network repair has been hampered by theft and vandalism, which includes theft of generators and fuel that powers the generators, as well as blocked roadways and damaged fibre cables. It noted that ‘Flow remains resolute in returning service to as many customers in the shortest possible time’ and that its contact centres remain open to facilitate customer queries and reports at the following numbers:Residential Customers ..........1-800-804-2994 or 100 from your Flow phone

Business customers only .......... 1-800-744-0222
