The Mandeville Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) has charged a 36-year-old Manchester technician for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman whom he offered a car ride.

Nickoy Johnson, otherwise called 'Sixteen', of Knock Patrick, was charged on Wednesday with rape, grievous sexual assault, indecent assault, and forcible abduction.

A date is to be set for him to appear in court.

The police say the incident happened in a section of his community on Thursday, July 11.

It is reported that Johnson offered the woman a ride to the parish capital in his car.

While on their way to the location, he allegedly turned into a section of his community and proceeded to sexually assault the woman.

After the alleged ordeal, a report was made to the police and Johnson was taken in custody.

The charges were then laid against him on Wednesday, July 17, after he was positively identified during an identification parade.
