Non-profit stages ‘Sip and Paint for Freedom’

Pursued International Foundation, a Jamaican non-profit organisation fighting human trafficking, will stage a fundraiser dubbed ‘Sip and Paint for Freedom’ on September 28 at The Dental Association of Jamaica in Kingston at 6 p.m.

The organisation, which focuses on identifying female commercial sex workers and connecting them with appropriate avenues and resources, aims to raise funds that will be allocated to expanding the scope of work currently being done, from the provision of essential resources to aiding survivors to reclaim their lives.

“As we approach our Sip and Paint for Freedom event, we anticipate an evening of creativity, meaningful connections, and purpose. This event is not just about creating art; it’s about painting a brighter future for survivors of human trafficking. Each brushstroke represents hope, freedom, and the critical support we provide through Pursued International,” founder and CEO Stacy-Ann Smith noted in a release.

The fundraiser is coordinated to make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by human trafficking through the proceedings raised. Sip and Paint for Freedom also promises to deliver an evening of creativity, camaraderie and impact through artistic creations and stimulating conversations, the release noted further.

The fundraising efforts will also support the foundation’s key programmes and initiatives, including counselling, mentorship and reintegration efforts for survivors of human trafficking.

Launched in 2018, Pursued International Foundation is a faith-based, non-profit organisation targeting at-risk women and girls, with an emphasis on counselling, mentorship and empowerment.
