St Catherine couple charged over beating of 13-y-o girl

A correctional officer has been charged with child abuse and cruelty to a child over the beating of the 13-year-old daughter of his female companion.
The girl's mother has also been charged with aiding and abetting child abuse.
They are booked to appear in the St Catherine Parish Court on November 5.
It is reported that on Friday, October 18, the child was severely beaten by the man.
A report was made to the police and an investigation was launched by the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse, which resulted in him and the child's mother being arrested.
They were later charged.
