'Portland is Vaz Land', declares Daryl Vaz

Member of Parliament for Portland Western, Daryl Vaz, has dubbed Portland "Vaz Land" in response to comments by People's National Party caretaker for East Portland, Isat Buchanan, that he will rescue the parish from "Vazism".
While speaking in Portland earlier this month, Buchanan took a swipe at Vaz and his wife, Ann-Marie, who is the member of parliament for Portland Eastern, characterising their politics as "Vazism".
"Dem talk about Vazism, and what Vazism mean, Portland is Vaz Land, argument done!" Vaz told a packed Arena during Sunday's annual JLP conference.
He also responded to Buchanan's threat to "bruk" all the Vazes, in a play on the word vase.
"I hear all kinds of rumours and other things in Portland that dem a go bruk di Vaz. The only Vaz I see bruk inna politics is not Ann-Marie Vaz and is not Daryl Vaz, is Dwayne Vaz inna 2020 when we give him a B*#@ding!" Vaz stated.
