Led by double strikes from Akeem Robotham and Alex Marshall, 20-time ISSA-FLOW Manning Cup champions St George's College swamped Tarrant High 7-0 on a wet and slippery Winchester Park ground, yesterday.

Jevon McKellar opened the scoring in the fifth minute, with Robotham doubling the score inside 10 minutes, while Marshall netted his first in the 15th.

Yuri Allen, who went on a marauding run from midway his half, finished off the fourth inside the 24th, and Robotham rounded out his brace in the 39th minute.

The other scorers were Marshall in the 67th and substitute Nathaniel Campbell, who slammed home a rebound two minutes into injury time to close out the game.

Robotham was happy scoring for the first time in his two seasons of Manning Cup.

"It's a great feeling. It's the first time I am scoring, and all I have to do from here is work hard and listen to my coaches' instructions, and, hopefully, I will get more goals," he told The Sunday Gleaner.

The score ended 5-0 at half-time, and George's had registered four different goalscorers by then, while an inexperienced Tarrant High could not get a shot on target.

After the break, the intensity dropped, with St George's content to just maintain possession against an inexperienced young Tarrant team with an average age of 15.

Assistant coach at St George's Marcel 'Fuzzy' Gayle said it was good to get seven goals at home.

"Most definitely, we are pleased with the win. Every team we play we expect a good performance from them. We don't take any team lightly," Gayle said.
