Five advance to finals at Junior Pan Am

Five Jamaicans, led by overseas-based sprint hurdler Damion Thomas, have advanced to the finals of their events set for later today following competition in today's morning first session of the X1X  Junior Pan Am Championships in Trujillo , Peru.  
  Thomas was the fastest qualifier in the 110 metres hurdles  winning  his  semi-final heat in 13.51 seconds. He is joined by teammate Philip Lemonious who finished third in his heat in 13.97 to be the seventh fastest qualifier.
  Both Amoi Brown and Janeek Brown are also through to the girls' Under 20 100 metres hurdles finals.  Amoi (13.63) and Janeek (13.83) were third and second respectively in their heats and are  the fourth and fifth fastest qualifiers. The American duo of  Tia Jones (13.23) and Tara Davis (13.42) won their heats to qualify as number one and two going into the final.
  Aneka Brissett was the other Jamaican advancing to a final as she finished second in her heat of the girls'  100 metres in 11.82 seconds to advance as the sixth fastest qualifier.
  Teammate, Kasheika Cameron was fourth in her heat in 12.06 and failed to advance.
  Jamaica representatives also  failed to advance in the boys' 100m final.  Christopher Grant was fifth in 10.97 and Ashanie Smith, third in 10.96,  in their respective heats.
