Nestle Jamaica Limited, under its Milo brand, has pumped $8 million into this year's staging of the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Under-13 and Under-15 leagues. The leagues kick off on July 30.

"Our sponsorship this year strikes to the tune of $8 million. this includes the provision of gear for the players. We have also invested in the provision of medical checks for all players, this we believe is very important to ensure the kids are fit to play," Nestle Jamaica consumer marketing manager Ockino Petrie announced during the Milo/KSAFA launch at Golden Gate Restaurant, Northside Plaza in St Andrew on Thursday.

Petrie also said that the best overall coach at the conclusion of the season will be awarded $50,000.

"We will also be introducing a sub league during the league which, will be dubbed the Milo Under-13 Cup. this will be a one-day scrimmage competition that will feature 16 teams of which 12 will be fielded directly from the KSAFA league. Montego Bay United will field two teams and the other two teams will be determined at a later date," Petrie disclosed.

"From this tournament, we will be selecting five players - male and female - who we will sponsor and send to FC Barcelona in Spain in October. We have partnered globally with the FC Barcelona, and are now the official tonic food drink of the team," he added.

President of KSAFA, Wayne Shaw, welcomed Nestle and the other associate sponsors.

"We are particularly delighted that Nestle through its brand Milo is on board for the KSAFA Under-13 and Under-15 Leagues. As you are aware these competitions form part of the KSAFA Age Group development programme," Shaw said.
