The Sunshine Girls are scheduled to leave the island on Saturday for the Quad Series, which will be held in Auckland from March 21-24. The participating teams are hosts New Zealand, Malawi and Fiji.

Henry told The Gleaner in an interview yesterday, that the Sunshine Girls will be arriving two days before the start of the competition and therefore they must acclimatise themselves very quickly to the conditions if they are to produce a good showing in the tournament.

"We have done our best in terms of our preparations, but we had our limitations. Despite that, we still have a competition to face," said Henry.

"I am a little bit concerned about the players not being there days ahead of the competition because as we arrive, we have one session and then we head straight into a four-day competition," she said.

"This means that we will have to adjust quickly to the climate. We just have to gel, try our best, work as hard as we can, put in all the extra effort and see the best the results that we can get from the Quad series," Henry said.

She added that the Quad series forms a very important part of their preparations for the Commonwealth Games, which will be held in Gold Coast, Australia from April 4-15.

"The focus is on the Commonwealth Games, but it is very important that we do well in the Quad Series to see where we are in terms of our preparations," said Henry.

"However, the girls here (Jamaica) have done the work and I know that ones overseas have put in a lot of work too. So we are looking forward to a great series and we are looking forward to going to the Commonwealth Games and doing well," she said.

The Sunshine Girls won bronze medal at the last Commonwealth Games, which was held in Glasgow Scotland in 2014.
