Ja Women seek second T20 win at Kensington

Jamaica Women captain Stafanie Taylor is anticipating a tough challenge from Windward Islands Women when they meet in round two of the Cricket West Indies Women's Twenty20 Blast at Kensington Park today.

Set for a 2:30 p.m. start, the encounter will see Jamaica looking to build on their impressive eight-wicket win over Guyana in their opener at Sabina Park on Sunday.

The Windwards lost their first fixture to Barbados.

"Whenever we play Windwards, it tends to bring the best out in them, and as such we expect tough game," said Taylor.

"But we are at home, and the focus is on going all the way, so after doing very well in our first game, we intend to carry on."

Jamaica, in defeating Guyana, were led in the field by the experienced Taylor and emerging pace all-rounder Roshauna Outar, who claimed two wickets each, as Guyana were limited to 75 for eight off their 20 overs.

Opener Jodian Morgan with a quickfire 19 and Taylor, 16, then gave the unit a solid start from which they pushed on to score 76 for two in reply.

Sidelined Windies opener Natasha McLean, 16, and Windies middle-order batter Chadean Nation, 15, were the not-out batters.

The tournament will also see a double-header at Sabina being contested on the day.

In the first match at 9:30 a.m., defending champions Trinidad and Tobago will take on Guyana, while at 6:30p.m., Barbados will meet Leeward Islands.
