Western Bureau:

It was a case of biting the hand that feeds you at the Montego Bay Sports Complex on Monday night.

Deshane Beckford, on loan from Montego Bay United, struck twice for Harbour View as the Stars of the East blanked his parent club 3-0 in the Red Stripe Premier League.

Beckford's goals came in the 22nd and 75th minutes. Timar Lewis (36th) was Harbour View's other goalscorer.

The former national Under-17 player, who had a trial stint with English Premier League club West Ham United in 2015, said he did not feel any special pressure, but he wanted to put on a show against his contracted club in the parish where he was born.

"I know this is my home ground and a lot was expected from me, so I had to come tonight and play well, and that's what I did. I got two goals, and Harbour View won, so I am grateful," said Beckford.

He added: "To be honest, It was rough for me at first, but because I'm a part of them, they weren't very hostile against me."

As the January transfer window approaches, the former Rusea's High star declined to comment on a likely return to Montego Bay. He told The Gleaner that he is focusing on playing for Harbour View.

"From where I stand, I'm just focused on the next two games and [I'll] see what happens after," said Beckford, who believes Monday night's win will do a lot for their confidence as Harbour View look towards the top six. They are now seven points off the play-off places.

"We just have to stay out of the relegation zone and climb up the ladder and win these next two games and hopefully, depending on the results of the other teams, make it into the top six," he added.

The win saw Harbour View, who started the game in 12th place and at the foot of the table, move up just above the relegation zone and into 10th place with 16 points.
