‘We must bounce back’ - Harbour View look for immediate response after 7-0 trashing

After two wins from their opening two Red Stripe Premier League matches, many were convinced that Harbour View had put their worst behind them and were on the path to return to their former glory, following unimpressive campaigns over the last few years.
However, after victories over last season’s semi-finalists Mount Pleasant and quarter-finalists Cavalier, the east Kingston team were brought crashing back to Earth by last season’s beaten finalists Waterhouse, who thrashed them 7-0 on Sunday.
Harbour View’s technical director, Gregory Bartley, said the team has already put the defeat behind them and is ready to return to winning ways this Sunday against struggling Portmore United.
“We have to put it behind us. We have no control over what has happened already; we can only control what is coming, and we want to get back to our winning way.
“We don’t want losing to be following us, so that game is gone for us and we are just looking forward to the next game positively,” Bartley said.
WAKE-UP CALL
“It’s a wake-up call, and in football you can start all over. So it is what you do on the day that really counts and not past performances. Any day we turn up and decide to idle, then these are the results we will get. The days when we decide to work hard, work for each other and play as a team, we will get the results that we want,” he said.
Bartley added that the aim is for the recovery to start with the very next game against Portmore.
“The next game is very crucial and important. I am confident that the players have realised what took place and what were the issues and I am positive, come the next match, they will be putting their best foot forward. Our form will come back, but sometimes things happen for a reason. You don’t want it to be that drastic, but sometimes it has to be drastic so you can come to the realisation. But I am positive we will be back on a winning track come Sunday,” Bartley shared.
Portmore United are also looking to make the most of the game after losing all three games of the season.
