Jamaica College's (JC) outstanding middle distance runner, J’Voughnn Blake, clocked a good three minutes 55.45 seconds to comfortably win the Under-20 boys 1500 metres at the JAAA Carifta Trials on Friday at the National Stadium.

Adrian Nethersole of St Elizabeth Technical was second in 3:59.91 ahead of JC’s Omarion Davis 4:01.04.

Hydel High’s Kerrica Hill sped to an impressive 11.31 seconds to record the fastest time entering Saturday's final of the Under-20 girls 100m event. Favourite Tina Clayton of Edwin Allen (11.39), Alana Reid from Hydel (11.40), Tia Clayton (11.41) and Alexis James from Petersfield (11.62)are the other leading qualifiers for the final.

Theianna Lee Terrelonge of Edwin Allen clocked 11.73 seconds to record the fastest time entering into Saturday's girls' Under-17 100m final.

Terrelonge will have Hydel’s Shemonique Hazel for company as she who won her heat in 11.76. Also in the final are the St Jago High trio - Bryana Davidson (12.03), Camoy Binger (11.78), Amelia Green (12.36).
