ALEXA’S SECRET (centre), ridden by Reyan Lewis, wins the TATANIA Trophy ahead of BABY LIKE over five and a half furlongs at Caymanas Park yesterday.

ALEXA’S SECRET closed from seventh position at the top of the straight to chase down RAMBLING ROSE, winning yesterday’s fillies-only Titania Trophy by a short head from late-closing BABYLIKE.

Sent off the 7-5 favourite to frank the form of return winners, SILENT MISSION and A GIFT FROM BEN, from her previous race, ALEXA’S SECRET sat off the pace while RAMBLING ROSE took MARKET PLACE, BERLINO’S CHOICE and RUPUNZEL through the early fractions at five and a half furlongs.

Straightening off a hectic pace, ALEXA’S SECRET improved into second a furlong out with Reyan Lewis and reeled in a weakening RAMBLING ROSE while holding late-charging BABYLIKE at bay.

ALEXA’S SECRET clocked 1:08.3 in the event for non-winners of two races, confirming her status as a run-on sprinter.

Shane Ellis rode a two-timer on the nine-race card, opening the programme with 9-1 outsider COLORADO RANGER before sealing his tally aboard 9-5 chance OLDKINGCOLE for champion trainer Anthony Nunes in the fifth.

Racing continues this afternoon, the second of three consecutive Heroes weekend holiday meets.
