Comfortable opening day for Shericka Jackson

World 200-metre champion Shericka Jackson opened her 2023 campaign with a win in the 400m at the Queens/Grace Jackson meet this afternoon at the National Stadium.

Jackson clocked 53.11 seconds for a comfortable win while GC Foster College's Odeisha Nanton was second in 55.37. Christine Cheka was third in 55.78.

Jackson is scheduled to open her indoor slate next Saturday at the New Balance Indoor Track Meet where she will face World and Olympic champion and world record holder Sydney McLaughlin-Leverone.
