AFTER WONDERFUL competition among under-11 footballers in last year’s Junior Cup, it is now time for the best of Jamaica’s under-nines to come to the fore.

The Junior Cup combatants were well supported last year, with Corinaldi Primary, among the rural area schools, and Emmanuel Christian Academy from the urban area grabbing the top prizes.

Primary and Prep schools across the island are, again, invited to participate.

This year’s competition, again organised by the Free Your Image Group, begins March 4, but registration opened yesterday and runs through to February 17.

The under-nines, like the under-11s last year, will compete on two fronts. One competition will be for rural schools and another will be for urban schools. The winners of those competitions face each other in an all-island final.

The all-island under-11 competition was won by Emmanuel Christian Academy.

Prizes are on offer for the top three schools in each division, as well as the top three coaches.
