Quarter miler Christopher Taylor is facing a lengthy ban for an anti-doping rule violation for evading, refusing, or failing to submit a sample collection.

As reported by TVJ Sports, the violation is about an incident at the Norman Manley International Airport in Jamaica in November 2022.

According to World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Rule 10.3.1, Taylor faces a four-year ban if found guilty.

However, if he "can establish that the commission of the anti-doping violation was not intentional, the period of ineligibility shall be two years".

The Jamaica Administrative Athletics Association, the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO) and Taylor have reportedly been notified.

JADCO chairman Alexander Williams told The Gleaner that: "The matter is being handled by the Athletics Integrity Unit. We await official notification."

Taylor has yet to make his 2023 debut, with his last race being in August.

He made the 400 metres final at last year's World Championships.
