Shericka Jackson, Natalliah Whyte and Kevona Davis safely qualified for the semi-final round of the women’s 200 metres at the World Athletics Championships while teammate Ashanti Moore missed out.

Jackson, fresh off her 100-metre silver medal performance, barely broke a sweat, cruised to a 22.51-second clocking to take heat three.

Whyte, in heat four, had to settle for second in a time of 22.44 behind St Lucia’s Julian Alfred, 22.31.

Davis, competing in heat five, was also second best, the debutant crossing the line in 22.49 behind American Gabrielle Thomas, who clocked 22.26.

Ashanti Moore’s time of 23.12, to finish fifth in heat one, wasn’t quick enough to secure one of the six non-automatic qualifying spots.

Reigning 100m champion, the United States’, Sha’Carri Richardson, is the fastest qualifier at 22.16.
