#BudaQuest | McDonald fireworks bring 4x400 men comfortable qualification

A blistering opening leg from Rusheen McDonald helped to set up a comfortable victory for Jamaica, who qualified for Sunday’s 4x400m men’s final at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

The Jamaican team, which also included Jevaughn Powell, Zandrion Barnes and D’Andre Anderson, finished in a season’s best time of 2:59:82 to secure the win ahead of the fast-finishing France team, who also clocked a season’s best 3:00:05.

Italy took the third automatic qualifying spot after clocking 3:00:14.

The Netherlands who finished fourth in the heat also qualified with their season’s best time of 3:00:23.
