It was a reserved yet promising showing from all three Jamaican sprinters in the men's 100m heats as Kishane Thompson, Oblique Seville and Ackeem Blake booked their spots in the semi-finals tomorrow.

Thompson, the world leader in the event, was the first of the three to get into action as he took heat one in commanding style, easing to a smooth 10.00 seconds clocking.

Seville was next up, stopping the clock at 9.99 to win heat four.

Blake finished second in heat six as he crossed the line in 10.06 behind South African sprinter Akani Simbine, who clocked10.03.
