Waterhouse expect Hamilton to bolster offensive line

AHEAD OF the 2024-25 Jamaica Premier League season, former champions Waterhouse have bolstered their offensive line with the acquisition of striker Nicholas Hamilton.
The experienced player joins the club after winning the title last season with Cavalier where he scored the winning penalty.
Marcel Gayle, head coach of Waterhouse, believes Hamilton will fill a void for the team in areas they lacked last season.
“Nicholas is a fantastic player and you can look at his track record in the Jamaica Premier League. We have a player that is experienced, has goalscoring prowess and he’ll help us in areas where we lacked,” said Gayle.
The 28-year-old also has overseas experience having played at York United, Dundee FC, FF Jaro, and Jakobstads BK. According to Gayle, merging Hamilton with the Andre Fletcher and last season’s leading goalscorer, Javane Bryan, will have a devastating impact on opposing defenders.
“Our front three, last season, carried the bulk of the goalscoring. We scored almost 40 goals, so Hamilton will certainly boost our frontline this season. It will be a good synergy because I’m aware of his talent and with motivation and determination, he can go all the way,” he added.
After ending last season’s preliminary round in sixth place, Waterhouse were stopped at the semifinal round by beaten finalists Mount Pleasant.
Gayle is excited about what Hamilton and the rest of the squad will show this season. He also added that he believes his team has enough to compete with the rest of the teams in the league and will assess after the first round of matches.
“I’m looking forward to this season to see what he’s about and what he’ll bring to the table. We’ll do it gradually, we have closed off for now and will be focusing on how we will navigate through the first round. We have enough for now, and if we choose to include other players, then we’ll do it.”
