BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC):

West Indies captain Shai Hope has hailed his team following their 2-1 One Day International (ODI) series win against England, which culminated with the third and final game on Wednesday here at the Kensington Oval.

Hope led the celebrations after the match, lauding his team’s dominance throughout the series and their steady climb towards a new level of consistency.

“The dominance that we have shown in the series from the first game is great to see,” Hope commented. “Putting a lot of consistent performances together is what you need to become an elite team.”

The West Indies captain was especially complimentary of key contributors Brandon King and Keacy Carty, who both hit centuries in the series decider.

“Brandon and Keacy played good innings, and these are the things we have been asking for, for a long time,” Hope noted. “It is great to see and a confidence booster for us.”

As they look ahead to the T20 series, set to start on Saturday, Hope emphasised the need for continued focus, especially for players returning to their franchise teams for the ongoing Super 50 Cup.

“Any time a guy comes back from the international level, they need to show why they’re playing international cricket. I expect the guys who are going back home to continue to show that dominance and set a standard.”
