Mykonos, Greek Bar and Grill is a quaint eatery on Main Street in Ocho Rios, St Ann.

The new spot, which has been in operation for approximately five months, aims to cater to Greek-food lovers and gain some new fans.

"As the only Greek restaurant in Jamaica, we want to get the word out there, and there are many Greeks living in Jamaica. We want to get people excited about Greek food," says Jaime-Lee Black, head chef at the establishment.

The 18-year-old is excited about the restaurant's entry into Restaurant Week. With blue and white chequered table cloths and intimate seating, the restaurant has a homey feeling.

Black learnt Greek cuisine at the restaurant, which is owned by Dimitri Konidis. Black says it's a multifaceted job, where he not only prepares dishes but is responsible for quality control as well.

The chef of two years gained his training at various resorts like Sunset Jamaica Grande.

He enjoys preparing one of the restaurant's unique ribs, Pepsi-Cola Ribs.

At home, he loves to prepare steamed fish, especially yellow tail.

Black prepared some fresh dishes for the Food team which will be included on their Restaurant Week menu.

The dishes include the combo kebab plate (pork and chicken), pitta bread, tzatziki sauce and Greek salad, French fries topped off with pure olive oil and oregano for flavour.

The appetiser is spanakopita - spinach wrapped in philo dough, tiropita - cheese filling wrapped in philo dough and skordalia - garlic potato dip.
