Gourmet food from inside a gas station? Well, that's what Three Scoops Ribs and Wings promises your palate.

The takeout eatery, which is originally from Portmore, has opened another location in Kingston, inside the convenience store at the Worldtron Total gas station at 23 1/2 Half-Way Tree Road.

Only over a week old, once you enter the convenience store adjoining the gas station, the order/pick-up window is highlighted with faux bricks. According to the management, their small space and unusual location say nothing about the quality of the food you can expect.

"Expect fine dining for less. Ribs at an affordable price," said chef at the establishment, Kayon Page, of their offerings, which include pork ribs, chicken wings, barbecue chicken and fish fillet. A variety of side orders are available, to include macaroni and cheese, sweet potato wedges, fried ripe plantain, curried rice, coleslaw and garden salad. They also offer combos that meld portions of different menu items.

When we visited, Page prepared two dishes for Food: Likkle More - which was two wings, two ribs, coleslaw and curried rice; and a new dish, their special, Calypso Chicken served with creamed potatoes.

They also offer 12-inch gourmet pizzas made with a thin, handmade crust, a signature sauce and lots of cheese.

Three different cheeses

"Each of our pizzas is topped with three different cheeses," said Page of the Parmesan, Cheddar and mozzarella used on the pizzas. Their pizzas include: Sun City Full House, Ital (vegetarian), Pepperoni, Ham and Pineapple, Barbecue Chicken and Plain Cheese.

Every Monday, they offer a pizza special, where customers receive a free cheese pizza with a purchase of a Sun City Full House pizza.

Dominic Moore, Page's business partner, noted that they strive to maintain consistency between the new store and the Portmore outlet located at Shop 6, Cedar Crest Plaza, Gregory Park, Portmore.

"We want to move to opening 24 hours per day at this location by the end of this week," said Moore, pointing out further plans for the Kingston store such as a breakfast menu including Jamaican and American food and expanding to offer dining options.

Currently, the eatery only offers takeout, where customers can pick up orders or utilise delivery in the Kingston and St Andrew area. Delivery costs start at $200.
