THE EDITOR, Sir:

The courthouse located in Savanna-la-Mar is considered the hall of justice, serving the people of Westmoreland. It is a place where our nation learns and our most esteemed legal minds meet.

Yet, on entering the building, there is no guard of honour. Instead, after entering the courthouse, on both sides of the foyer, there is an eyesore: two vendors transacting business, with merchandise displayed.

I am not against those who make a living in commerce, but it is unacceptable to have people selling food and drinks at the entrance. it is absolutely embarrassing. I want to publicly apologise to the nation's judiciary, and all others for their tolerance and patience with the blatant disregard to which they have been subjected.

I am appealing to the administrators of the court system to take immediate action to move the vendors and take steps to provide the vendors with suitable carts within proximity to the courhouse and police station.
