The Student Association of the Norman Manley Law School hosted an exciting wine and cheese party on their lawns on December 12, to celebrate a very successful year.

Principal of The Norman Manley Law School (NMLS) Carol Aina told guests that the institution was using this annual event to celebrate its 40th anniversary as well as its win in defending its hat-trick as three-time winner of the fifth Annual Human Rights World Competition earlier this year.

The early December air circulated the aroma of succulent finger foods as students, staff, alumni, well-wishers and corporate sponsors networked.

While they did, they were able to enjoy the various wines and cheeses that were on offer, which included six-month smoked Gouda, Manchego, Brie and Menage with some good ole' Sky Vodka and Campari if you were not a wine lover. A scrumptious selection of callaloo and ackee quiche, escoveitched fish, jerked chicken, bammy, festival, rolls, Christmas cake and assorted fruit platters, ensured that guests were kept satisfied all night.

With full stomachs, there was a lot to keep guests entertained. Some viewed paintings and portraits by Jeffrey Perry while others stopped at the various corporate booths. There were also numerous performances, from a steel pan performance by Reajhaun Baptise to Latin dancers, singers, poets, and flautist Kerry Ellis, the night was very entertaining. And if that wasn't good enough, there were lots of prizes and giveaways from various corporate sponsors as well as a fashion show with designs from Bremish.

The night well spent ended with a prelude to the NMLS 2013 Silk Teaser with a scene from the play.
