JPS working on power outage in Papine, surrounding communities, motor vehicle crash blamed

The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) says the power outage now being experienced in Papine and surrounding communities in St Andrew is due to a motor vehicle crash this morning.
JPS says the crash, which occurred in the vicinity of the University of Technology, resulted in a broken pole and damage to a section of its power delivery system.
The company says in order to carry out repairs, service has been suspended for three hours and is expected to be restored by 2 o’clock this afternoon.
Among the areas affected are August Town, Dallas, Constitution Hill, Tavern, Gordon Town and Mavis Bank as well as the University of Technology.
