Man who allegedly attacked police with machete shot

A 22-year-old St Ann farmer who allegedly attacked a policeman with a machete was this morning shot.

It is reported that about 7:30 a police team went to Knibbs Street in Watt Town, Gibraltar in response to reports about a man who had allegedly issued a threat.

The team warned the man not to carry out the alleged threat.

It is reported that the man allegedly became aggressive and confronted the police with a machete and was shot.

The injured man was assisted to seek medical attention.

The Brown's Town Criminal Investigation Branch is investigating the incident.

The matter is also being probed by the Independent Commission of Investigations.
